This impressive steering wheel is a nice reproduction of the original and will fit your VW Type 2, Bay Window Bus from 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973 to 1974-1/2. While not an exact replica, it performs very well both in terms of fit and function. It comes ready to bolt on and includes the horn button with associated internal components and the turn signal cancel ring. The wheel color is L 41 black.

This is the only new steering wheel in the U.S. market having the turn signal cancel ring in the correct orientation! To function properly, the cancel ring shoulder needs to be in the 9 o'clock position and lined up with the rib (see photos). The competitor's wheels have the cancel ring incorrectly positioned for Euopean, right-hand drive models.

This wheel has 36 hub spline teeth and an O.D. of 20.7mm and an I.D. of 19.2mm. The overall steering wheel diameter is 45cm (17.7 inches). Prior to ordering, please verify this information against your original.

Note: For the 1974 model year, the wheel was changed mid-year. If you are purchasing for a 1974, reference your vehicle's VIN. Vehicles with VIN 2x4 2164 059 or earlier should use this early wheel. Vehicles with VIN 2x4 2164 060 or later, should use the late wheel (1974-1/2 to 1979).
